Now, a brief piece of advice about teaching evaluations: don’t read the open-ended comments yourself. Ask a colleague to read them for you and tell you about any constructive criticisms that pop out. Offer to do the same for your colleague.

Pro tip for reviewing a paper you've reviewed before, especially at a different journal (when there are no author replies): use a pdf comparison tool to see what the authors have changed. My favorite (and free) one is Draftable: https://t.co/3xvEPi9IC5
